What is Umrah and how is it different from Hajj?
Umrah is a voluntary pilgrimage to Makkah that can be performed at almost any time of the year. Hajj is an obligation for every Muslim who is able, and it takes place only on fixed days in the month of Dhul Hijjah.
What are the main steps of Umrah?
Umrah has four main steps: entering Ihram at the Miqat, performing Tawaf around the Kaaba, walking Sa'i between Safa and Marwah, and shaving or trimming the hair.
Which Umrah package length is right for me?
A 7 night package suits a short trip, while 10 or 14 nights gives you more time in both Makkah and Madinah. A 20 night package is ideal if you would like a slower pace and more time for worship.
Do your Umrah packages cover both Makkah and Madinah?
Most pilgrims like to visit both holy cities, and our packages are planned with this in mind. The nights in each city are shown on the package, and our team can explain the split before you book.
How close are the hotels to the Haram?
It depends on the package you choose. 5 star hotels are generally the closest to the Haram, followed by 4 star and then 3 star. Ask us for the hotel name and walking distance before you confirm.
Can I change the dates or hotels in a package?
Tell our team what you have in mind, such as different dates, a longer stay or another hotel, and we will let you know what is possible and how it affects the price.
What should I pack for Umrah?
Bring your Ihram clothing, comfortable footwear, unscented toiletries, any regular medication and copies of your travel documents. Light clothing works for most of the year, with a warmer layer for winter nights.
Is Umrah in Ramadan or December busier?
Yes. Ramadan, December and the Easter holidays are the most popular times for UK pilgrims, so the Haram is busier and prices are usually higher. We recommend booking these dates well in advance.
What documents do I need to book?
You will usually need a passport with enough validity for travel to Saudi Arabia and the details of everyone travelling. Our team will tell you exactly what is required for your visa when you enquire.
